For more than 20 years, I have supported individuals and families through caregiving, disability, advocacy, grief, and life's most difficult transitions.

My work as an End-of-Life Doula, combined with decades of community advocacy and four years as Chair of a local Accessibility Advisory Committee, has shaped a practical, compassionate approach that meets people where they are.

I believe no one should have to navigate illness, dying, death, or grief alone—and that every person deserves honest information, dignity, and the freedom to make informed choices.

Whether you need guidance, advocacy, planning, practical assistance, or simply someone to walk beside you, my role is to help reduce confusion, ease unnecessary suffering, and ensure you never feel alone. Every conversation, every decision, and every service is grounded in one promise: to protect your dignity, honour your autonomy, and support you with honesty, compassion, and respect.

As someone who is neurodivergent, I understand that accessibility looks different for everyone—including me.

To help ensure I can provide the best possible support to every client, I ask that communication take place by email or text message whenever possible. Written communication allows me to process information more accurately, respond thoughtfully, and ensure nothing important is overlooked.

Hello, I’m Jen, founder of Durham Death Companion Services and owner of Durham Dust Whisperer.

I am a Certified Death Doula, Certified End of Life respite care provider and have been providing residential cleaning in the Durham Region since 2012.

I am happy to be partnering with Stillwater to provide residential and transitional cleaning services for their clients. 

During one of life’s most difficult seasons, the last thing families should have to worry about is cleaning the home. My mission is to provide compassionate, respectful cleaning services for individuals receiving palliative care and for families navigating the loss of a loved one.

I understand that a clean, peaceful environment can bring comfort during end-of-life care, while thoughtful cleaning after a passing can help ease the burden on grieving families. My approach is never just about cleaning—it’s about caring for the space with the same dignity, discretion, and respect that every client and family deserves.

Whether preparing a home to create a calm and comfortable setting for someone receiving palliative care, maintaining a safe and sanitary living environment, or gently restoring a home after a loved one has passed, I work with compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail.

I believe that supporting families means caring for more than the individual—it means caring for the home where memories were made and where loved ones gather to comfort one another. My goal is to lighten the load during an overwhelming time, allowing families to focus on healing, remembrance, and being together.
